1. Manual type:
This method is the traditional standard method. There are mainly two forms: downstream/no top pressure reflux. In general, two carbon steel tanks are connected in parallel. According to different process flows, each tank requires 8-11 manual valves (approximately 16-20 for two tanks). During regeneration, the dissolved salt solution is pumped into the tank by a salt pump. Resin tank (this equipment was once the main form of softened water equipment in China). The main characteristics of this structure softening water equipment are: simple process, easy to understand, easy to operate, low cost, and can be applied to the needs of large flow rates; But the technology is backward, occupying a large area, operating a large volume, and operating efficiency is high. The actual operating intensity is high, the salt pump is severely corroded, and the maintenance cost is high.
2. Domestic combination automation type:
The introduction from the water treatment equipment factory stated that due to the overly complex use of manual equipment, a new type of equipment, mainly modular integrated valves, emerged in China in the early 1990s. The main component of this device is a multi-channel integrated valve, which changes the direction of water flow through the rotation of the valve body. Compared to traditional manual devices, this type of device takes up less space and has a higher degree of automation. However, due to the use of time control, the accuracy of control during operation is relatively low. Due to limitations in design concepts, processing techniques, and materials, most equipment uses flat integrated valves that are prone to wear and tear. Once worn out, the likelihood of repair is very low. There are currently many manufacturers of this type of equipment on the market. The actual quality of products varies greatly, and many devices have unsatisfactory operating effects.
3. Selection of softened water equipment
1) What kind of softened water system do you need to provide: ① heating ② cooling water ③ process water ④ steam boiler ⑤ steelmaking industry ⑥ chemical and pharmaceutical industry
2) System water consumption time: operating time/hourly water consumption/average/peak/equipment needs continuous water supply? If necessary, you can choose dual bed centralized control or dual bed control series, otherwise you can choose single valve and single tank series.
3) The total hardness of the source water includes municipal tap water, groundwater, and surface water, as well as the total hardness of the raw water in the usage area. For a certain type of water softener, the hardness of the raw water is high, and its periodic water production needs to be relatively reduced, resulting in frequent regeneration of the water softener equipment. Relatively reduce the service life of the resin. To avoid this situation, the volume of the resin should be increased, which means choosing a larger size water softener.
4) The required unit flow rate of soft water (tons/hour) depends on the nature and requirements of the user's equipment.
5) The water treatment equipment factory introduced that after setting the softener model, the cycle water production rate is set. Based on the hardness of the raw water, the exchange capacity of the resin used can determine the theoretical cycle water yield (tons).
